Pre - Adoption Advice
Adopting a rescue is a big deal. It's worlds apart from bringing home an 8 week old puppy from a breeder, and it's not without its own challenges.
Choosing to adopt a foreign dog is a wonderful thing, but there are things I wish i'd known before Libby arrived.
This pre-adoption service will ensure you not only give your dog the best start to life in their new home, but adequately prepare you for the coming days and months afterwards.
This is a remote session, so you don't need to be local, and we will cover how to handle the handover, toilet training, calm interactions, introducing equipment, the Do's and Don'ts for the coming days (there are things you must NOT do), how to keep them safe, first walks, and what to expect as they settle in.
In my experience, this is quite possibly THE most important session you could book, ideally before you've even chosen your new family member. These dogs are so different to our British bred dogs, preparation is essential!
